English Translation:

Shalok, Third Mehl: Without serving the True Guru, the soul is in the bondage of deeds done in ego. Without serving the True Guru, one finds no place of rest; he dies, and is reincarnated, and continues coming and going. Without serving the True Guru, one’s speech is vapid and insipid; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, does not abide in his mind. O Nanak, without serving the True Guru, they are bound and beaten in the City of Death; they arise and depart with blackened faces. ||1|| First Mehl: Burn away those rituals which lead you to forget the Beloved Lord. O Nanak, sublime is that love, which preserves my honor with my Lord Master. ||2|| Pauree: Serve the One Lord, the Great Giver; meditate on the One Lord. Beg from the One Lord, the Great Giver, and you shall obtain your heart’s desires. But if you beg from another, then you shall be shamed and destroyed. One who serves the Lord obtains the fruits of his rewards; all of his hunger is satisfied. Nanak is a sacrifice to those, who night and day, meditate within their hearts on the Name of the Lord. ||10||

Spanish Translation:

Shlok, Mejl Guru Amar Das, Tercer Canal Divino. Sin servir al Guru, cualquier acción que hagamos en ego se convierte en la cadena del Alma. Sin servir al Guru, uno no encuentra Paz, y nace para morir una y otra vez. Sin servir al Guru, todo lo que uno habla es un parloteo insípido y el Naam, el Nombre del Señor no es enaltecido en esa mente Oh, dice Nanak, sin servir al Guru, uno es maltratado en la ciudad de la muerte, y deja este mundo con el semblante negrecido. (1) Mejl Guru Nanak, Primer Canal Divino. No te metas por el camino que te hace abandonar a tu Amor. Dice Nanak, Bendito es el Amor que te acredita con tu Señor. (2) Pauri Contempla a tu Único Señor, habita sólo en Él, y pide sólo por la Bendición de Dios para que los deseos de tu corazón sean cumplidos. Es vergonzoso pedir limosna de otro, porque nos lleva a la deshonra. Sin embargo, aquél que sirve al Señor, se vuelve pleno y su hambre es saciada. Nanak ofrece su ser en sacrificio a aquéllos que contemplan el Nombre del Señor en su corazón. (10)
